Google is updating backlinks for two of its datacenter (64.233.187.104 and 64.233.187.99). They maybe testing their Page Rank algorithm or just preparing for a Page Rank update.
What does Backlinks mean to you ?
Your Page Rank is determined by the number of backlinks you got. Higher the backlinks, higher is your pagerank.
Google updates its pagerank once in a Quarter. Last time Page Rank was updated somewhere around mid July. I reckon there is 15 - 20 days left to go before the next Page Rank update.
