I was also wondering that too. Any webmaster pros out there, please let us know! I heard some search engines (Google) don't like doorway pages and can blacklist a site for using doorways, not to sure though. |

Doorways are prohibited by most SEs. Especially doorway don't bring you much profit coz it is hard to detect spyder request. Most spyders use ip range and switch ip in this borders.
If someone know ip range of Google bot, tell me  |

This is what I have so far on Google
But to what I understand, doorway pages are script ( java for example ) to attract SE attention. It is different to landing page. So yes if you try to tell Google you are smarter than them, I will not be surprise they blacklist you no matter how friendly Google staff appear to be lol.

| I suppose Google could run their "Doorway detection" bot from another ip range and then compare responses of simple bot and doorway checker. If your site has doorway, responses will not be equal;) |

max, that not right. I mean if we talk about doorways and cjs - you are probably right. But doorways as standalone business bring much profit.
Many can't even imagine monthly income... |

I am making some standalone doorways now as we speak,
anyone want to buy any ready made doors?

the risk to be banned by SEs is too high. I don't think it is the best way to get cash. In one hand you get money but in other you can lose visitors from SE. |

It is a pages that replaces real site page for SE spiders (crawlers). When proper script detects spider request, it says server to redirect spider to doorway page. Doorway pages are made specially for better SE ranking (indexing) and are not shown for surfers. That is why doorways are prohibited. |
