You could install it either way if all 10 copies are the paid version of ST5 (1 master with 9 children or 10 master copies with individual DBs for each master). If you have the "free" version, it's limited to 5 copies on a shared DB (1 master/4 childs). You cannot mix paid/free versions of ST5.

Best bet (IMO) install as 1 master/9 children, and keep your MySQL DB as small as possible, with a 50k limit on the number of galleries.

My bad, didn't understand your Q correctly.

In theory, you can have multiple copies of ST5 installed on the same server, all configured as masters (with each copy of ST5 having it's own dedicated MySQL DB)... as many copies as you have domains/disk space for. AFAIK, the Smart-Scripts people haven't set a limit on the number of free copies you can register and install.

Now, 10 master copies of ST5 with 10 individual localhost DBs - is that a good idea? Answer is probably not, as the potential problem with running a MySQL DB is server load (because it's pulls a high % of your processor resources during task execution). Multiple MySQL DBs = higher server loads...

Monitor server load as you add each instance of ST5, and go slowly. Smile

AFAIK = as far as I know

Just went to the smart-scripts web site to check, didn't see any info about a limit on the number of free copies you can register.

I noticed the master w/4 child limit from inside the owners area... the free ST5s display the same, just under the paid script section, and stop once you've added 4 childs to the master.
