that is the downside of adding an htaccess script to stop cheaters.

Please do not ask me how?.. I just had a bitch figuring it out and desinfecting the test pc..

why? well some new sites i can see are joining Protect-x and i have defenetly sing up to a few of them that are just leachers and add trojans to their so call affiliate trades wich eventually they own and set up under another name and even go as far as to buy a different dns number then clone it back to the main server so they can stay clean when some one ask ? HEY MEN your affiliate has trojans , hack , spyware . then they re-plaid i will talk to him asap and see about fixing the trade! to shit i have only 1 THINK TO SAY FUCK THEM! and You know exactly what i am talking about !
Like this webmaster for example: http://teens-thumbs.com/ and all his sites at his trade are leachers , I have personally traded with this guy and he claim he never send any hits back because production was un 10% that is imposible because his sites are Really nice compare to my crapy tgp i sing up for to trade with him.
Is all Logical if you fallow me! Please, For example my sites has really poor looking thumb and his sites have excellent looking thumbs so! after the surfer goes from a bad looking site to a better looking site he has to click on the thumbs is just the lay of Nature! why drive a sentra when you can drive a MAXIMA !
I am using comparison only and do not intent to Offend any one! Specially at this Board! I love Protect-x But i Tell the people if they need help please fill free to ask!..

Hummm... hit for hit (Might want to check your site's trades as it is currently displaying a Protect-X check trade button)
estdomains.com domain registrar + DTR thumb script + illegal copy of TM3
Checking the other 15 domains in the lucky-traffic network, all follow the same registrar + gallery script + trade script profile.
Checking all 16 domains in the lucky-traffic.com network with the Protect-X Check Traders function, returns 3 sites as good trades, 10 sites as clean trades, and 3 sites as Bad Trades?? WTF???
Checking those same 16 domains against the cheaterhell.com DB, and all 16 domains are listed, with the comment "ILLEGAL TM3"
Note: TyRex has a utility installed on his tgpsoftware.com domain that makes it real easy to check if a domain is licensed to use his $395 script (additional copies are $295) - http://tgpsoftware.com/cgi-bin/checker - and by my math, the lucky-traffic.com traffic network is running on close to $5k worth of stolen/hacked traffic scripts. (Granted, TyRex does discount multiple purchases... but even with the discount, that still represents $3.5k worth of stolen scripts for Ty.) So why does a trade network that advrtises over a million hits a day (and apparently sells traffic to several of the major traffic brokers including the one I use) 1) use a domain registrar that, at best, turns a blind eye to thieves activities and facilitates their spread, 2) use illegal/stolen scripts, and 3) apparently leeches traffic?
Here's another thing that makes me go hummm...
Protect-X's Live Top 10 is currently reporting teens-thumbs as the #1 site by trade volume - 363k. Drilling down, Protect-X also reports it as a clean trade??? Again, WTF?? OK, answer is in the traffic volume - by definition a clean trade is <5% bad traffic... but 5% of 363k is 18k. If you're getting traffic back from the 95% of his clean traffic, then you likely would be willing to turn a blind eye to the 5%. If you're a smaller site and don't make it into his primary trades, the chances your traffic back is from that 5%, your opinion of the trade might be a bit different. If you're a small trader still learning the mechanics of trading traffic and don't send enough traffic to get off of his watch list so get nothing back for your time/traffic, then the 'you sent me unproductive traffic' (while personally annoying), is plausible... so you just go on looking for the next trade.
Let's put this all in perspective... Protect-X is a great service, and definitely provides a level of cheat protection not available in a lot of trade scripts, BUT ITS ONLY AN INDICATOR, and it's only as good an indicator as the data it has to work with. It's not in the scope of service for Protect-X to check script licenses or domain registrars... only report on traffic to/from sites that use it's service and between sites that do and sites that don't participate. Total reliance on Protect-X reporting when selecting trade partners can build a false sense of security, (much the same way that a spoofing attack against a specific trader using Protect-X can cascade into other traders killing good trades with the site being spoofed, because based on Protect-X stats they are getting bad traffic from the trade).
Every webmaster has to make the final decision on their individual trade partners... Personally, I choose not to trade with sites that are registered through estdomains, use the DTR thumb script, and stolen copies of TM3... or other sites that do trade with them - (and the real reason why I don't often trade with sites without a visible top list... I want to know who else they trade with) as the first step in keeping my own trades clean. I'm still a long way away from the luxury of having enough traffic to absorb the bad traffic that comes in on one trade thats also trading with these estdomain cheaters.

Note: Not every webmaster that uses the estdomain registrar services is a cheater, but the chances increase substantially when that combination of registrar, gallery rotator, and stolen trade script is used together. If you choose to trade with a site that fits the cheater profile, I definitely believe it's not in my best interests to trade with you... Have to admit I'd like to hear what the webmaster running the lucky-traffic.com network (Thomas) has to say especially as his site is the #1 volumn trader in Protect-X's list... Maybe even more interesting might be what TyRex has to say about the unlicensed trade scripts Thomas is using, and number of illegal TM3 scripts running on estdomains. |
