Being an affiliate program, it is our prime interest to know what affiliates really want when they join one or another.
Can you name what is most important for you? What is on first place? Commission rate? Payment schedule? Credibility of the program? Conversion rate? Promoted brand? |

Hi,
I run a couple of affiliate sites (but am still very new at it) and personally I go for the following:
1) Credibility of the Product/Company
2) Conversion rate
3) Commission
4) Special Discount Codes relevant to the affiliates site
5) Payment Schedule
As I said, I am still very new to the affiliate market but thats what I look for. |

IMO affiliate sites normally have a very hard time ranking well for the same keywords as 250 other sites.
If you can solve that problem for your customers then you would IMO have a very valuable service to present. |

A client has asked me to look into an affiliate scheme for them.
I have heard of ipoints which encourages users to search via dogpile.
20 searches on dogpile is 2 points.
Now heres for the maths M&S and Debenhems give a £25 voucher in exchange of 510 ipoints.
2500 / 510 = 4.9p
It says completing a survey is 1 point. You honnestly think people are going to fall for this?
Now I do alot of searching in a day perhaps I should start using dogpile as my search engine.
One thing I have noticed is that online shops dont mind you earning points through their store, but would rather not have you redeem them.
I think its important for the merchant to bring in more revenue, people like money. If the retailer gets more sales, economies of scale take effect and therefor larger commision rates for the affiliate.
Some schemes offer a cookie, if a customer goes back to the shop another time, say within 30 days, the affiliate will get that comission. Thats one feature affiliates like. It also makes it fair. |
