Since I've moved my domains on a dedicated server I have some trouble with a "strange traffic" on my sex-sensations.com
On the STT-Script I register bookmarked traffic with a quality of nearly 400% of productivity, while the quality of my trades goes down to 30-40%.
The most strange thing is the "bookmarked Traffic": about 450% raw hits, many different IPs some with lots of "clicks".
I have modified my htaccess file as suggested by PX (Thanks btw!) and as I can read in some topics about htaccess, but it seems to take no end!
So please help me

That is to be expected as it compensates for unproductive traffic.
Please be advise that STT is simple yet really powerfull.
Please Also Remember Book Mark Traffic is Always Better then Trade in Traffic as it Means Recuring Traffic is Always More Productive!,
In my site Uncletroy.com book mark traffic is at 700% to 1200% and i sell at least 1/2 daily.
as to my trade traffic is all base in Productivity not Clicks in.

I disagreee XWILD, I also noticed extra traffic, and after working all weekend, a new firewall, going back to Arrow Trader and blocking about 200 IP's I got things back on track.
It might be powerful, but right now since the forums are down and there is no way for people to compare notes, I had to get rid of STT. My traffic has increased 30% in 1 day being back with Arrow Trader.
Also I suspect, based on what other person found, there is a bug in the cookies that affects newer browsers. |

is it an avarage value?
and what was the meaning before a moving to dedicated server?
i can't even suppose how server type is connected with the site productivity  connect is perfect on my end as it have to be.
btw, productivity for bookmarkers is not strange, as xwild stated. 400% is in the normal range |

The problem in my opinion with situations like this is that people have a paradymn, and you just can't change a person's paradymn without major proof.
Example I know XWILD loves STT. Right now it works for him, and he sees no problems, and there might not be any. As long as he might make money on his sites he might say all is well with the world. However that does not mean that there is not a problem, or does not mean that another script will work better, it just means the effect is such that it is not noticeable to him at that time.
All I can tell you is that I clicked on one pic in my template and I went to a site that was not a trader. So that click must have been one of the free clicks for Smart Thumbs or STT. That site I was sent to, IFRAMED my URL so that my site appeared in a window that looked like my site, and that IFRAME rewrote my links, and my affiliate codes, but was trying to use my bandwidth.
And after that IFRAME I could no longer get the bad DNS location from my PC, or any other PC on the network. Somehow the actual IP of my server was replaced with the false sites IP, and even DIG returned the bad IP on any machine, windows or linux on my site of the router. So apparently this site did something that changed the DNS on my linksys router.
There is a chance that it was the free click taken by Smart Thumbs, but since I see nothing on the forums about bad traders, and all of their clicks to to Hot Hat I feel pretty confident it is not them.
I installled Snort, and Base and NTOP. Between them I found numerous DNS issues and strange traffic, my system had been compromised for a month or so I figure so I started to weed things out on my system and look at the effect in Snort.
The fact I do not know of an existing forum for STT, and that I have no idea of where these clicks are sold that are take by Smart Traffic Trader, I do not want to subject my surfers to that kind of mayhem.
All I can tell you is that since I got rid of the domains running STT that my situation is coming under control. Was it the program? Who knows. But I do know that by going with AT3 I might lose some features, but any risks are more wide spread among many users. People have a way to report the problems on forums, which the STT forums were taken down. And I get better tech responses on the Arrow Scripts forums than I do STT.
So really anyone using STT can have their little Paradym, but it really does not in any way mean that things are working for you or there is not lost opportunities for your site, or that your surfers are not getting screwed by where this traffic is being sent. It just means the pain of those problems are not yet great enough to deserve your attention. I am not making much money so so I cannot afford to ignore such things.
I have used STT on 12 domains off and on for 6 months. I will tell you that it is over hyped on this forum. It is not as great as it seems. I think it does have issues on some servers with zend with lag on trade responses. And I am suspicious that there is not some problems there are are compromising peoples computers.
And would not that be Ironic, XWILD for example being so particular about exploits and missing one right in his own backyard, and responsible for putting his surfers through hell because STT is sending people to bad places.
So what I suggest is that if you are running STT, sit and click 100 times like I did on your own thumbs, and I am pretty sure you will come to the same conclusions I did. Yes there were some nice features of STT, but not at that cost. |

STT traffic is sold through trafficadept.com which is run by STTBoss and DamageX. I just bought some traffic from them - their highest rated traffic - and am not too pleased so far. I've tracked a few of the bigger senders and their productivity is below 50%, which has dragged my site's productivity down considererably, so I have shut off the traffic for now.

| I agree with on you on the traffic there, I have found it bad in the past, I think they are having some issues with the traffic senders etc. Garbage in Garbage out. |

To replace DNS record in your router their server had to have access to your DNS table that is pretty hard to realize without some kind of spyware in your internal network. Try to check your PCs if you didn't do that already. |

Actually what they did is just that, and I assume they used the php for either smart thumbs or smart trader, etc., is to write to my resolv.conf and make their server a primary lookup. So whem my computer wanted to resolve a name it went to their first. Kind of nasty eh?
I eventually found it, but it was world writeable by default install at the hosting level. |

resolv.conf on your LAN router or at you ISP? Thought at first you were talking about a local browser hijack via a LAN router, but that sounds like an ISP/DNS or domain host issue.
Either way, very nasty.

Very smart way to push infected PC to see fake sites and ads, doing fishing or whatever. Real scam IMO!

I need to look it to resetting a server and installing arrows script in it.
