I just noticed that one of our traders from Protect X has a nasty hit bot on his trade. How should I handle this with that trader because maybe he does not even know.

Well, after looking at this recently added trader: bestandfreeporn.com his top 3 traders are all hitbots.
Protect X member as well.
Whats the procedure for handling this or reporting?

Entirely up to you, no set form and how problems are handled varies greatly between traders. Professional courtesy would be to try to contact your trade partner first, prior to taking any action...
And you're right, your trade partner may not even be aware of the problem, especially if the other site is using a free trade script. Unless they really review the trade stats and do some in depth checking, they may just see the cheater trade in their stats as a low productivity trade and not realize while their raw numbers may be high their site's productivity is getting hammered and they risk loosing all of their trades as most sites trade based on productivity rather the raw traffic.
Personally I'm more likely to kill the trade in my script, flag the site as no trade in Protect-X, and block further traffic in from the other site in .htaccess (so I don't pass it on to my other sites/trade partners).

I actually did contact him and he deleted the trades that were bad and I put it back to an active trade now. I will keep an eye on it though! I think that down the road, I will just do it a little differently since it would be quicker your way! LOL

Actually, as I posted earlier, I watched him carefully and within 24hrs, he was up to no good. I just deleted him, blacklisted, and reported.
Everyone else........... watch out for this guy!
