I have a cron setup to rebuild my site with new thumbs every 20 minutes - I figure since I have so many FHG's in my db, it's a good way to give them all even exposure and also keeps repeat visitors interested in seeing new content. Do you think this is way too often? I use TGP Rotator so I don't have an archive function or a "days of week" feature like some some other scripts have - which makes updating only once a day more logical.

Once a day. How often is a person visiting your site? Do the math. Say he goes there once a day. At 20 minutes he's missing more thumbs than he's seeing. You're going to fly through your database and end up with far less accurate click stats. Also, don't do the classic template cycle. hof today's yesterday's bonus Use the include feature. If you have 100 thumbs on the page, do every other thumb new. Then ditch the fifty worst on your rebuild the next day. Good thread. This has always been a tricky thing. It also depends on how much traffic the site has and which script you're using. _________________

Ok, I was thinking about this, but am not sure what you are using the include function to do?

Looking at the directive, I am not sure when he will make use of the REORDER if he is building new page every 20 mins via cron.

Then and again I am not expert in TGP rotators.

BTW Verbal, I don't think alternating the forum thread colour is a good idea, I like the way it is Smile

I rotate 1 site 1 time a day! Some 16+ every 5 Minutes. and the rest every Click
