| The list would be so hugh that all your server would be doing is processing your htaccess file. Instead why not just block the ones that are sending you bad hits - your trade script should be of help there. |

I can't delete trades that send 2-3% bad traffic. I would have no trades. those are the hits I want to block.
when is a list of ips considered huge? yesterday I had 1331 bad hits from all my trades |

So you are getting from 44,000 to 66,000+ per day and you are concerned about only 1331?
2-3% bad traffic is minor. I wouldn't even be concerned unless it hits close to 10% per given trade, and only if that is a trend for that trade. Does your trade script allow you to filter by country and provide you with country stats per trade (EPT does)? If so, I would do the filtering there. You might find that the majority of your bad hits are coming from a just few countries.
Do you use Protect-x on your site? It give good info on bad traffic sites and other sites to watch out for. |

you can't block even a tiny part of bad IPs because hitbots use millions of proxies all over the world. Besides proxy dump is always reconfiguring - some are dying and more comes up - and this process is pretty fast and global.
confirm greenrat's post - too hard in terms of server load |
