I must be misreading stats here.

I do not understand a site getting ~100 hits/day demanding 50 hits from me before they start a trade?

If I sent them 50... what would I be getting back?... makes no sense

Could someone explain this to me?

It's a pretty standard rule to see but 90% of the time it doesn't really matter.
Who's site is it?
I'd try to contact him to setup the trade.
By the way, 100 hits is when most traffic scripts start to function properly so maybe he was considering that factor.
Or maybe he made the rules when his site was getting 100k an hour.

and maybe your traffic prod quality is very good too .... many trade scripts are based at prod quality for sending back hits.
