I have been wondering about this for a LONG TIME, and I figured I would ask the only people who would know. When I'm looking at a TGP site, the link from one of the pictures is, for example:
(PS- I had to remove my URL because I have not 3 posts, but hopefully my question still makes sense) Baiscally, a good URL contained within a bunch of other nonsense stuff with numbers, other site URL's, etc.
When I click it, I get some other BS site most (but not all) of the time.
Now, clearly, there is a valid, good URL contained in that nonsense-
(example removed)
Can someone explain what is going on there, and why? I've gotten into the habbit of not clicking images in a TGP but instead copying the link URL into a new tab, removing all that crap from the front and end that keeps it from working, and then load it. What is that /&p=65 at the end, and all the stuff at the front? Sometimes I try changing those numbers and seeing what happens. (especially good with sites that have sequential folder numbers!) What's the mechanism here, why does it work only sometimes?
I wonder if someone could write a browser plug-in to mine the valid URL out of the rest of the stuff...
Anyway, thanks for your answers! |
